Deadlines Are Approaching
September 6, 2018
Stop Sexual Harassment Act Notice posting requirement went into effect. If you don’t have access to the English and Spanish posters you are required to display, call us today.
October 9, 2018
New laws for annual anti-sexual harassment training and written prevention policies (e.g., company handbook policy, standard complaint form, and new hire orientation materials) go into effect. January 1, 2019
All employees must have completed anti-sexual harassment training that adheres to the new annual, interactive training requirements. This includes all part-time, full-time, temporary, salaried, and non-salaried employees.
April 1, 2019
New York City: In May 2018, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio signed the Stop Sexual Harassment in NYC Act. This law is one of the strictest anti-sexual harassment laws in the country and includes additional requirements above and beyond the mandate for New York State – mainly the inclusion of bystander intervention and manager training.
Effective April 1, 2019, New York City employers (15 or more employees) will have one year from this date to implement the new policy and training requirements.
